In the youngest picture they are about 3 weeks old, in the older picture they are 6 weeks old. I got them from a store that told me they were ameraucanas. They were straight run but said they should be females. Any idea if this is true? I have looked at several pictures of ameraucanas and other chicks and haven't seen any that look exactly like mine.

fine looking chicks. when they develop about 21 weeks old you should be able to tell if not then re- post another picture of it when it is 20 weeks old. i hoped i helped you

It's still a bit early to tell gender, but that 'wild type' pattern that is coming in is encouraging. Also, they are not Ameraucanas (hatcheries love to mislable their birds as Ameraucanas). You have Easter Eggers.

Thank you! It doesn't much matter to me what they are, I've just been curious as to wether or not they were actually ameraucanas or not.I love their colors! They are becoming gorgeous birds.
