are these eggs okay to eat if the fertile spot looks like this? They haven’t started to turn into chicks have they?

Those aren't going anywhere since you broke them on the ground. If you have questionable eggs,,, next time boil them up for your chickens to recycle. I noticed that when I would give boiled eggs back to my chickens,, they layed eggs next day. An egg is very much protein, so the chicken recycling one has all she needs right there.
I would always recycle eggs when I found a batch in a hidden nest. All my eggs are not fertile,, since I have hens only.

How did you encounter your questionable eggs??? Hidden nest?? or you were out of town, and did not get a chance to pick eggs for a few days?

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:highfive:

those are still just eggs.
if I recall this right from Biology class a million years ago, the first thing to appear are blood vessels (although I think there is a video of a girl doing a science project and incubating an 'egg' in basically an egg cup with saran wrap.
And they can be scraped off and no harm done.
But if in doubt, give to the critters.
I did that with eggs I found cracked in the coop. cats and dogs loved them.
Or the hardboiled egg that sat around for a couple of days.
