Babies just hatched!

I just had to share...another successful hatch!
1.5 years ago I ordered 14 more pullets. One ended up being a rooster!
So we kept him and now I have had 3 rounds of hatchlings. One went broody on my sons birthday and I let her sit on them.
This was the most successful hatch yet. 5 so far, one more egg.
Male is a speckled sussex crossed with welsummer x 2, an easter egger - blue, easter egger - green, and 2 brown ones.
So exciting. Just went to check and all are doing great! I let mama do her thing and I love watching her protect her babies!

Good deal. I'm doing the same thing. I'm keeping everything in house. By that I mean Rooster, hens, chicks all come by the natural way. I've bought fertilized eggs and baby chicks for the last time. From what I have been reading a lot of people are starting to do the same thing. Good luck. frankoo
