Just wondering what everyones thoughts on introducing new chick(ens) to my flock of 31 red stars and 2 black stars. I want to replace 10 of them that were killed by the mink. I want to get 10 black stars to go with the other 2 that I have so they can hang out.
Would it be better to get newly hatched and get one of the black stars to mother or 4 week olds and put them on the roost at night to introduce them? I can put them right beside the other hens for a week or so first. Same with the baby's and new mother? Thoughts are appreciated.
