Backyard Chickens near Lake Murray, SC - Newberry or Lexington Counties

Hi, I'm considering retiring near Lake Murray, South Carolina, either in Newberry or Lexington Counties. Is anyone familiar with what the laws are in those areas with regard to backyard chickens?

Hello from Lexington County! Newberry is a small rural town so there are no chicken laws. If you move to a residential area in Lexington, there is a maximum of 4 hens, no roosters, and coop placement regulations. The municode does say you need a permit, but no one in the area I know has one.
