I know she is still young at 9 weeks, but is this bird looking like a blue palm? I was originally thinking blue sweetgrass but now think blue palm due to the lack of chestnut coloring. I can't find any pictures online of blue palms when they are young so I was curious.

@austria89 is the color expert. You can find his book Turkey Color Genetics on Amazon.

I'd say it's a 50/50 it might be it's just the black coloration it more gray than normal imo.

These are what hens normally look like.
I have some royal palms and this one is not the normal black and white palm coloration. The group of poults came from a Fall Fire and Sweetgrass flock so royal palms, whether normal or blue wasn't what I was expecting. However, I like palms so I'm okay with it. Here is a semi penciled palm jenny that came from the same group.

I suspect Narragansett genes in the woodpile. But I can work with them. I have a lot if nice birds in the group and I enjoy them. The little blue and white one was stumping me is all.

Thank you for your response. 😊

Your poults are adorable! Thank you for sharing. I have some experience with Royal Palms as my friend has a flock of them and I hatch them for her regularly. Aa far as RPs, I currently have an tom, a semi penciled RP jenny, and 2 RP poults. And possibly a blue palm but I'm not sure. I like that they are smaller than other heritage varieties. I plan on harvesting extra birds and the smaller RPs are a good size for my family of 3. The Royal Palms will look nice in a flock with my Narragansetts and Sweetgrass if they all survive.
