Hi! My family proudly now owns 5 chickens! We’ve talked about it for years, but we finally live in an area where it’s possible. My husband is in the military, so we move a lot. We finally live on some land and not in a neighborhood with an HOA! We have 2 cuckoo marans, 2 mystic onyx, and 1 partridge Plymouth Rock. Right now, our girls are only about 7-8 weeks, but we look forward to having fresh eggs in the future. My kids signed up to participate in 4-H for the first time, so we will also be raising some meat chickens for them to show this summer. I know that will be a whole different experience! My kids are really stepping up and enjoying taking care of the chickens. We have 9 children, but 2 are out on their own, so 7 at home to help! We are looking forward to this chicken adventure we’ve embarked on!
