Hi,
I was thinking about getting a broad breasted turkey hen and mating it with one of my standard bronze toms. Do you think it would yield a bigger turkey than a standard bronze without artificial insemination? I understand the broad breasted toms can't mate due to a large breast, but another tom that isn't broadbreasted should be able to right? Unless the BB has "junk in the trunk" so to speak? Ha ha:lau

Right on, just dont use any BBB,OR BBW Toms, I like the BBW hen bred with royal palm, bigger bird for the table, but not as big as the BBW.

I keep my Royal Palm pure, all cross are butcher. White birds just look better dressed out.

That is something I didn't consider. What color did your Royal Palm Bronze Crosses come out? My Standard Bronzes aren't mature yet, but my Royal Palm Toms are so maybe I should keep them around and try to breed them next year with BB. Royal Palm Hens should be laying in the next 2 weeks.
