BROODER thread! Post pics of your brooders!

I'm building a 6' x 2.5' brooder. We initially set to get 12 chicks, and with my perfect chicken math we will have 21 coming at the end of the month. Will that be big enough for the next 8-10 wks if most are bantam?

5'x2½' buffet converted to brooder work in progress!
I'm gutting it and adding hardware cloth for security from adult chickens inside run.
I have a couple questions:
I will be moving chicks to this at 10 days old.
For better cleanup Would installing ½" hardware cloth as flooring along with pine shavings cause potential problems with 10 day old chicks?
The weather is trending warmer by the time I do this and I know with the brooder plate it needs to be atleast 50° to function properly. Do you believe they will be just fine in this setup?
Pic is as is currently during destruction.

This was a really old piece of furniture and I'm not sure made of what. It has that old smell so I'm wondering if sanding it and painting it will help once it dries out from our freezing rain we've had.
Any thoughts?
