i have had chickens for about seven years and the last 3 years i have hade no luck with the incubator so i am gooing to get 26 silkies to be my incubators but i need a good coop desin that will work for them puls have room for the hens to rasie the chicks

My broodies raise their chicks in with the flock. No integration problems; when the broody decides she's no longer a mother, even at 4 weeks, the flock has already accepted the youngsters. I have about a 5x6 pen in the coop for separating, but really it could be half this size if used just for the broody before the chicks hatch. I've had broodies abandon nests and kill their hatching chicks, but I've never had a problem with the chicks being raised right in the flock.

i havea bunch of laying chickens but i want some silikes to do the hatching but i dont want to cross the laying hwns with the silkies since i want to get into oremantall fowl
