Yesterday my Sumatra hen went broody!
She usually is in and out of the nest box very quickly, but yesterday she took her time. I eventually decided I needed to get the egg since I have no rooster. She growled and pecked, but I got it from underneath her. She then promptly left after realizing the egg was gone.
Today she was sitting on my Polish's egg! She must really want chicks

I told her they weren't going to hatch, but she kept staring at me with a blank expression.

If she does it again, I'll make sure to take pictures!

Yeah there are a lot of restrictions on having roosters. :\
Yeah :/
There's someone in the neighborhood next to mine who has a rooster :p That neighborhood is governed by the same chicken laws as mine. I wish I could get a rooster, but it probably wouldn't end well with the neighboring house very close to each other.
But if I were to get a rooster, I'd want a Phoenix! :3 I've had a Sumatra rooster back when I had land, and I fell in love with long tailed breeds~
