Building a new coop, suggestions welcome

Finished off the vinyl on the back side and even hung one plank. Finished framing the loft door opening and continued on the loft door.

Did some more work today. It's slow having to walk up the hill to make cuts and up and down the ladder, mark level each time, cut the 45, come back and mark length, back up to cut, etc. And now attach spacers to make sure the siding is ventilated.

Here's some closer pictures of the loft. The hatch for it is actually sitting off to the right and the square opening will be the access. The front might not get the ventilated clapboard siding because of the short distances, but between the ridge vent, eaves, and the back I think I'll be in the nature of the 32sqft I was aiming for.

Moving slowly forward. Vinyl on the front is finished until I close the gable.

Vinyl is finished except for the top partial piece! Door frames are welded, just need to cut aluminum and attach it to them. Chicks will be hatching in about 3 weeks. Need to connect power and install the GFCI. All other circuits will be protected by the GFCI at the beginning of the circuit and I intend we to keep all the wire within PVC conduit inside the coop.

Doors are built. They are made from 1 1/4" angle steel welded together with some steel mesh on the bottom of one door and aluminum skin up top. The second door will get treated plywood on the bottom to attach the pop door because that will be easier on chicken feet getting in and out.

Pictures of competed vinyl and blocking off the nesting boxes in preparation for chicks. I'll be building roll out nest boxes to fit the opening and installing them later.

Doors are up. My wife says they need paint. Need to install pins for the left door and a latch on the right and we'll be closed in for chicks.

After than just need plywood in the right door and to finish off the electrical and I'll be ready for shavings.
