Can Snakes Climb Hardware Cloth?

I'm no expert either, but I've seen a King snake climb straight up a brick chimney. I've also seen them go pretty high up in cactus.

Oh and @coach723 FABULOUS video on snake proofing for rattlesnakes!! The baby rattler didn't appear to climb the 1/4 inch hardware cloth so this gives me hope using the 1/4 inch stuff. I am also going to follow the link to Rattlesnake Proofing around the home. Thanks so much!!

Yes, I am betting a snake or two is in my mulch pile out back. And I can live with these things, as long as they stay OUTSIDE! And yes, the big ones can do what ever they wish, heck, they can climb the sides of the coop and run for all I care. As long as the little ones can't get in, neither can the big ones.

I've decided to give the 2ft, 1/4 cloth a try. I will need to have my hardware store order it. Gives me a nice fall project.
