Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to. :)

I'm still alive!
I'm down to 17 birds at the moment, been busy working on the fruit farm so I don't have time to babysit an incubator this year.

My Black australorp rooster of 8 years went to roost in the sky, but his son lives on.

(also it turns out when you mix a black australorp and a Colombian rock you get this beast)

Howdy, I’ve been around just reviewing forums. Update: All four chickens that I have been raising have been well. Alberta, my one winged chicken due to a fox attack years back (I think two years ago around Thanksgiving) will be three years old in July and has been one of my best egg layers. Quite the sweetheart that loves to be carried and sleep on laps. My two Easter eggers Marga and Becky have reached 3 years around March 21. Those two are very responsive to routines. Fredita my other hen that was hatched the same time as Alberta but was given to someone to be returned back has been very accepting of her one-winged sister the past two years and will be celebrating her three years with Alberta on July. Apologies, no pics of Marga and Becky at this time.

Hello everyone, been a very long time since I posted anything.

It’s been about 2 years since my unfortunate downfall. Lost all stock due to the avian flu, which was so incredibly bad. The a year on work the hardest I could to build my brand new flock, 54 chickens. Only to bid on more goodbye as between dogs and a family of foxes, I lost them all.

I decided enough was enough and left the chicken world. But now I’m back, starting again! I’m in the very early stages, welcoming my first chicks (well keets, as can be seen in the image).

I was down, but am no longer out!

It has been crazy busy at the farm, between these new meat birds, baby turkeys, baby chicks and goslings. I am up to my elbows and feathers.!🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 thanks for checking in on us, sometimes life gets busy! Heading to a poultry swap this morning, but only to buy antiques.
Hope everybody else is doing wonderful happy spring 🐣

Hello all! So super busy 6 months as we’ve moved home ( with 2 budgies, 10 chickens and a geriatric Cat), but all settled in now. Chooks still in temporary run, but now the weathers picking up ‘himself’ can start on a new design and build the run. Loads more land here (3 acres) so I feel the menagerie will increase! AND we’ve ‘inherited’ a lot of ducks and moor hens!

Hello everyone, been real busy over the past few years starting my service therapy hybrid Silkie chicken business, doing silkie photography, and getting a Double Spine fusion, soooo been out of the loop for a while 😅.

Hi everyone! All’s well on the chicken front over here. Everyone is in a molt right now but here’s my sweet babes when they didn’t look so goofy :)

We no longer have poultry, which is why I haven't been on in awhile.

I have been very busy. I'm glad you understand. Everything here has been healthy and wonderful and no concerns as of now. Thank you for reaching out. I really appreciate the backyard Chicken village. The five cats and two dogs and 23 chickens are getting along
