Chick with hard lump under wing

I noticed this Coturnix quail chick's wing sticking out a bit, so I pulled it out to take a closer look. The wing seems to be fine, but there is a hard lump underneath it. It feels hard like bone. The lump runs from under the wing almost all the way to its tail, almost an inch long. Any ideas? Will the pretty thing have to be culled?

This one is the smallest one of the hatch, but it seems energetic and is eating and drinking.

Is it possible what you are feeling is the chick's crop?

It's directly under the chick's wing and runs back towards the tail, so definitely not the crop.

It's hard and not something like air under the skin right?

Hmm....I was going to say air too, sometimes air sacs leak under the skin, into cavities, etc... But if it's hard like bone, I'm not sure. Some sort of deformity maybe? Is the chick acting normal, eating, drinking, active?

Yep. Eating, drinking, running around. It's 13 days old today and I noticed the lump 3-4 days ago.

Honestly, I have no idea! She seems ok for now. I tend to let them live their lives as long as they are thriving, but its totally up to you.
