Chicken anatomy, is there just one hole?

If you get them soon after they are laid, they are usually nice and clean (and pleasantly warm on a cold morning!). They collect the poo later.

I had a lot of dirty eggs. I think it was from them struggling to get into the same nest. Sooo We put in a communal nest.
No more broken or dirty eggs

If your chickens wear colored metal legbands sometimes the color will rub off on the eggs too.
Obviously this is from their legs, but I was kinda like "huh???" when I first noticed some thin purple streaks on the eggs!! I don't worry about it myself, but I use fine sandpaper to buff it off for my customers.
