6 year old hen, eating, but opening beak, moving neck sideways. Thought it might be gapeworn, but now not so sure. Still running around, hand fed corn, has to stop and open beak. Thought it might be an age thing? She has stopped laying, hasn't laid since beginning of last year.

Have you checked to make sure her crop is emptying properly?

Feel the crop when at night when she goes to "bed" (roosting), then first thing in the morning before she has had anything to eat or drink.

Night it should be full - morning it should be empty or flat. Moving the neck sideways could be her attempting to adjust her crop. She may be having some crop issues.

Thanks, will do so. It does not look like an impacted crop, but will check to make sure.
