So we finished the coop and run last Thursday, so this is night #3 in the coop. It was a lot of work but I love it. I hope my chickies will be happy here. They all went inside on their own tonight. I love watching them grow and learn and making the Cottage cute for them (&me).

Love the color and the name . Also the lanterns are super cute! Do they stay on very long?

but it looks pretty functional which I find beautiful.
Are the soffits, front and back, open for ventilation?

Yeah, the cute part is just for my own enjoyment. Yes, the soffits are open front and back as well as the windows for ventilation. So far, so good. There's space to add an additional vent in the back if need be. Yes, we ran the hardware cloth skirt out 2 feet and buried it. I tossed some wildflower seeds there so hopefully something will grow so it isn't as muddy. The run is chicken wire covered in hardware cloth as well. I have motion lights on each side as well.

They stay on for a few hours, not all night. The enclosure is in a pretty shaded area so I have to remove them every morning and sit them more in the sun so they'll charge.
