We have a seriously adorable little cockerel and I'm afraid we have to rehome him. My kids are devastated* but our neighbors are just not ok with a rooster. We live in a suburb, and if you live in tampa you know how confusing the zoning laws are. Basically, if a neighbor complains we have to get rid of them. I can't risk losing all of our hens for this one cockerel, adorable and beloved though he may be.
Anyone local willing and able to give him a good home? Silkie Bantam, I think. (My husband took the kids to get them, and didn't remember to note their breeds. We went back few days later and got some more and they had Silkie Bantams and that's where the kids say he came from.)
*My 7 year old is threatening to move out with him. She said "How would you feel if you got thrown out of your home for being a girl?" . My almost-5 year old son said he can't live in a house that kicks family out just for being a boy. They are not taking it super well.
