Confused Gander

So my goose was sitting on eggs and while the gander was waiting, my mallard duck was also sitting. Since the mallards hatched first, he automaticly thought they were his babys. So my momma goose keeps the baby goose with her(she only had one sadly) and my gander takes care of the ducks. Wont let the parents near the babys. Its just funny to watch

Ganders seems to have a very strong parental desire. My gander raised 3 Muscovy ducklings last year, and wanted the 3 from this year too but I let the mama duck keep them this time.

I know I think it is so cute the way they just have such a love for these babies whether duckling or gosling. Hopefully next year we'll be able to watch him with some gosling of his very own. Hope you will too. LOL
