My light brahma, the biggest hen in the flock is doing very well! I'm giving her fish flex twice a day on a piece of bread and its working well!
The holes in her side are scabbed, leaking the infection(which is good) and covered in blue-kote. I was not able to separate her without stressing her, I tried. My poor hen has had several baths cleaning the wound.
Here is a photo today where the coyote plucked her feathers around the wound. They are growing in very quickly! This attack happened 2 weeks ago.
The coyotes are still there. We are trying to hunt them down without any luck. The coyotes are popping in our backyard, which one of our dogs keep rolling in their fresh poop. We can hear the coyotes yip and yelp during the day/morning every so often. There's at least two of them.
They ate two other hens and one cockerel midday. My flock has been locked up ever since the incident.
Here's the initial photo I took of her.
