Hi all! I just found the site as I was trying to see if it is ok to have chickens in the city limits. I'm interested in having a couple maybe 3 chickens because I really like fresh eggs and I think it would be a hoot! I have a huge backyard and a couple of chickens won't make much difference. I also have 3 dogs (Augie. Coco and Talullulah). Anyone know about city ordinances in Stockton Ca?

I don't know about the laws where you live. there is a thread on what the laws are, and how to change them. there is also a California thread that may be able to help.

My neighbors on my street are all sad to see my chickens have to go. I'm not sure which of the two behind me called Animal Control because they didn't like a 6:30 am "I LAID AN EGG!! I LAID AN EGG!!". Now maybe I'LL get a dog and leave it outside to bark all night....grumble. (Not actually going to as that wouldn't be fair to the animal, or the nieghbors I like.)
