Question on where to place a brooder in the summer. I’ve always had chicks/ducklings in the spring and didn’t have this problem. It’s starting to heat up where I live and wasn’t sure if it’s safe to put the brooder outside with a top cover of course. Or is it safe to put them in our garage? It can get pretty warm in there. Do they still need a heat lamp? It got up to 94 degrees today and wasn’t sure what to do so I kept them in the house but they can’t stay inside I have small children and cats. Any advice would be so helpful. Thank you!

I'd prefer to keep them somewhere secure. I'd only use extra heat if they needed it. When I brood in summer I generally use extra heat for about a week or less during the day and maybe 2 weeks or less at night.
