My 3 day old silky is dying. She’s cold to the touch (under the heater still), lying on the floor, watery poo and gasping. She had what I thought was straddle leg and I braced her legs with the straw/tape method. She just suddenly went down hill very fast last night.

I think she’s too far gone to save- im gutted and dreading telling my children

1) is there anything I can do!
2) might it be contagious,
I’m worried about my other chicks.

Please help! X

Sometimes they don’t make it unfortunately and nothing you could have done differently. It’s probably nothing contagious. I’m sorry she isn’t doing so well. Keep her warm and you can prop her up on a little towel or something and try and make her comfortable. Offer wet mash crumble feed. Make sure her siblings aren’t knocking her about.

Thank you so much. I appreciate you replying
