I’ve read mixed reviews to assist or not assist. Today is day 21 and this poor chick is fighting to get out. It’s wing is now outside of the egg I think, and it’s leaking yolk?

What do I do??

How is the chick doing?
Is she able to stand and move about?

In the photo below, I have an area circled, what does that look and feel like in person, does it feel like an air bubble?

She’s getting around a little better. More alert. Knew the q-tip I was holding had water and drank from it willingly for a while, she was thirsty. Took a few bites of food too. She’s walking some short distances now and held herself up to watch the other chick for a while. The bubble does feel like air, and appears a little smaller today. She’s also a little more fluffy so it may just be the fluff making it look smaller, but it also doesn’t look as tight under her skin, if that makes sense.

This is her a little more fluffed up. She’s real cute. ❤️

She had a rough hatch. That can leave a chick with under performing organs, among other things. Sometimes, it causes the failure-to-thrive syndrome.

If the liver and kidneys are not adequately developed, food and nutrients can't be metabolized properly. There's a chance the chick will catch up on internal development with special feedings and vitamin support. Poultry Nutri-drench is the best supplement for such chicks as it's formulated to bypass the liver and to be directly taken into the bloodstream. You can add it to the water, sprinkle over food or give a few drops directly into the beak.

Supplemental foods such as finely minced boiled egg and crumbled tofu are high in protein and easily digested. Feed these each day in addition to the chick feed.

I couldn’t handle the wait and pulled the top off more (I knew that’s where the air cell was). It’s pushing it’s way out now. Praying for the best!! 🙏🏼🐣❤️

She is cute!

I'd monitor the area that has air, it will likely resolve on it's own.
Keep encouraging to drink and offer a little wet soupy feed.
If you have poultry vitamins, give her those for a couple of days as well.

I hope she's doing o.k.!
The air looks to be gone! She’s fluffed up more and walking better, but still has no interest to come out and eat and drink on her own. Even when I try to feed her she barely eats. She drinks great, but refuses food. Any suggestions?

She just wants to drink and sleep under the heat.

The bubble thing returned. Looks like there’s fluid in it?
