Favus in silkie bantam rooster? Or another disease?

I have a 10/11 month old silkie bantam rooster and noticed over the past week or two white chalky and flaky developing on his comb. In some areas there is little black specs but no raised lesions. He seems normal with the same amount of energy and the only thing wrong we noticed was this development on the skin.

A couple of our hens also have a white chalky development on parts of their comb as well and one hen has a slight lack of appetite and not as active.

I did a google search but haven’t found many forums that can help identify if it’s favus or another infection of sorts. Any suggestions on if it’s favus or something more dangerous such as fowl pox? Also any ideas on treatments?

we’ve been treating with apple cider vinegar and coconut oil as well as lavender and Manuka honey

It looks like very dry skin which can be common I would apply some coconut oil to it or leave it alone. If you suspect favus or if it gets worse, a vet could take a skin scraping, or you could apply anti-fungal creams such as miconazole or clotrimazole.
