Feeding Wild Birds

The Tartarian honeysuckle at the club is loaded with berries, and today there was a flock of cedar waxwings feeding on them.

I suspect this morning's visitor was a Great-tailed Grackle. Unfortunately by the time I could get to a camera, it was gone. It looked like a Common Grackle except that it was bigger with a much longer tail and had a very pleasant call.

I had seen one here about this time of year before about 20 years ago.

Saw an Indigo Bunting today. I think that they and Scarlet Tanagers are absolutely striking birds. I only get to see either every couple of years.

They are very pretty, but not very bright. We had a bunch of them eating berries in a tree we had in FL. A bunch of them flew right into the screened lanai and were killed.

I chuckled at one of the mockingbirds here the other day, it flew by a tree where there are young in a nest and scolded the parent standing guard in a perfect imitation of them

Yesterday I saw the first hummingbird moth. Generally there are a dozen or more working my flowers.
