The slightly wet bebe kept insisting upon climbing on top of the water well in the bator so, these three are n a li mini brooder

1 more baby out in the NICU stir, and 2 actively zipping

Wild that I ordered from a predominantly Pearl covey and I’ve yet to get two with exactly the same coloring

This egg even looks like it might be a dark feathered baby!

Still waiting on two chickies but I’ve got 21/30 so far alive and well!! 25 went into lockdown and only two babies failed to pip into the air cell and drowned

Just for funzies, what colors do we think for these? They come from a mixed pen with 70% Pearl, plus some pharaoh, Italian, Egyptian, and pansy.

I’m assuming I’ll get: Pearl, Italian, Manchurian, pharaoh, pansy, falb fee, pansy fee, sparkly, yes?

There’s also ONE Texas White

Last time I ordered eggs I ordered 18, got 24, but only 10 hatched so this time I ordered 24 (but received 31! These are from a different place) figuring that probably only 15 or so would hatch… jokes on me!

I think I’m going to just introduced them like “These are my minions!” In a Gru voice

My first hatch was very similar. Ordered 24, got 36 ... 17 hatched n it was mayhem of cuteness Keeping track of who's who was impossible xx

My one ADR (ain’t doin right) baby, and one with some splaylegs spent and extra night in the incubator— from posts here I burritoed both and let them “Re hatch” in there which was a a great trick!— and now all 23 are moving and shaking like normal!

With the help of my minions, I will steal, THE MOON!

Here’s a cool color comparison on these floofs also!

The top chick is an A&M (90% certain, has a single dot on rump instead of head)
Middle chick has dark skin/silvery cast to feathers/possible VERY pale wild markings
Bottom chick is… reddish? Wild type markings but clearly some variety of dilute.

Myshire (is there a more universal resource for color genetics?) lists autumn amber as a potential result of breeding the colors of the covey these came from (Pearl, Pansy, Italian, Pharaoh) does anyone have an autumn amber? What do they look like as chicks?
It also lists GPC as a possible result so I guess any dilute is possible? I’m going to do my best to keep track, for science! Of how these birds feather out!
