How many hens? What kind/size of roosters? It all depends on their personalities and size. And whether your older rooster(s) will keep them in line without being too aggressive.
I have 3 roosters & an 7mo old cockerel in one coop with 4 hens they are bantams. I have one extra large rooster and 20+ standard hens from small to xl, 2 bantam cockerels around 5 months, 3 bantam roosters, and 8 bantam hens in another pen, and 4 boys in a bachelor's coop. They all roam together. None of my hens show much in the way of wear and tear.
I never wanted bantams because I'd have to start out straight run, now I love them. They are so easy going and manageable.
I'm not enabling...just encouraging you to enjoy yourself and any new chicks that hop in your car.😁
Currently I have 20 chickens. 13 adults and 7 chicks. 2 adult roos and 11 hens. My 7 year old Dominique roo Ijak has a cool personality, but he doesn't like his hens being troubled by other roos. Stormfeather is 9 month old Buff Orpington roo, and doesn't trouble the hens (much) and is an nest escort. From my experience, (I used to have 6 roosters) having too many can cause trouble.

The Buffalo gnats here are awful. I brought Hilda inside for a while. She was covered in them. See her under eye area? Those are blood spots from gnat bites.

The gnats especially love black chickens(and dark clothing too).
I put my black girls in a pen and applied permethrin powder. I turned on the coop fans too. I hope it helps them out.
Hattie & Hilda waiting their turns for the powder.

You can also try horse fly spray, I use that for lice now. Works great!

Can’t get powder here, but can get the horse spray.

I'm very far behind, so busy lately.
But we broke Morinth of her broodiness.
And then hubby said "well when we get the big run put in I won't be as worried about chicken math happening. We could get a couple more girls...a pompom chicken for kiddo...If you put a hard floor in the breaker you could make a broody baby jail" :th
Don’t worry not much news going on. The weather still sucks here but everyone else seems to have lovely weather and roses growing.

RoyalChick’s Tassels seems to have given up the broody idea also.

Alex’s wee ones like to trim his whiskers. Sir Jaffar is getting acquainted with his new charges.

Looking back on the month:
Memories of the eclipse

My mum enjoyed herself

And that white suv was naughty and tried to drive up the oncoming lanes while everyone was going home from the eclipse - he got boxed in and couldn’t go anywhere - some people think they are entitled!
