Need some advice, please.
I have a 9 mo. old cockerel I picked up from a breeder a few days ago. He appears to be in good shape (feather condition, weight for age/breed). I have him isolated from my other birds until I'm positive he's healthy. What concerns me is that he does not seem to drink normally. He puts his beak down in the water and drinks without lifting his head. In the process some of the food (pellets) he's eaten washes back into the watering cup. As you might guess, this also causes some of the water to splash out.
Any ideas here?
