Friends Narangassett Tom helping hatch eggs

Has anyone ever heard of this?

Derek resisted going in the coop with his mate (who had started setting on a dozen eggs) for over a week. Then suddenly he decided to join her on the nest and also sit on them solo while she took a break. Do Toms do this? He is a very good natured Tom. My friend visited him while he was sitting and he sat there, unspooked, determined to make it happen.

I like how she ran the duck tape around the edges to insure there was no feather ruffling as they entered and exited. They are sitting on about 12, it will be interesting to see how he acts as a parent.
