I was given a toy stencil Homer, Gill. Only problem is it’s male and Biff just bullies him even though Gill is twice his size so he’s going in the cage for now ig

Oh he’s so pretty!! Is that coloring rare in homers? I assume he’s more of a showy bird than a racer/flyer?

I’m not really sure. The guys who gave it to me seemed to indicate the owner who was part of their local club wanted me to start racing but I don’t see how he could be very fast. He’s a strong flier but doesn’t really fit a racer mold. They’re slender, small headed, medium sized, and blue barred (or other colors that appeared but weren’t selected for, generally)

while he’s clearly been bred for his color, and he has a bigger head and is half a Biff larger than them even if he’s pretty lean.

Also to race birds to their best potential, you have to breed them. So I’m not really sure what to do with him.

Yes. And often babies make better racers than their parents, being raised on your schedule in your loft.
