So!! I just rescued two golden sebrights, a hen and a rooster. The hen for sure looks like a seabright. But when I was doing research it says that the roosters will have hen-like feathers, meaning he won’t have pointed hackle or pointed saddle feathers. This boy does, he also has a dark chest. He does have a rose comb, and grey legs. I’ve searched the internet to find a Roo similar to him and I can’t find it. Does anyone know what he is? The first two photos are the Roo and the last is the hen. We named them Bonnie and Clyde.

Thank you. So he would pass down his feathering of bread?
I definitely would not breed him. Judging by his spurs, he's been through a molt and still isn't henny-feathered. Even if he had one copy of the gene, the feathering should come in after first molt. Neither bird is show quality. I would get some stock from a decent breeder instead of perpetuating birds that lack a distinguishing characteristic of the breed :) Here are better examples of what the breed should look like from Rocky Top Sebrights

Thank you. I know how to keep chickens but I know nothing about breeding or showing. It would be for my personal flock. I just want to know if he was “supposed” to be a sebright or if he was a total different breed.

Your birds are beautiful. I think the sebrights are the most strikingly beautiful birds.
