DH hasn't told her yet. He was out of town til late last night.

It's not easy, is it? My guys are 14 and 17. They still take any death very hard, but I always tell them right away. The younger one always wants to see, and only the very special birds get buried. Makes them feel like they can do one last thing for a pet.

My 6 year old GD always want to see them also. We always bury ours.

She was ok when Dolly died last year. I think she'll be ok... Just whenever another chicken died she always said "but what about twilight?" So, we'll see. Good news is I have so many biddies that she can pick another to make a pet to tote forever. Bad news is most of them are hona mixes, and not tote able.
