Just touching base again. I usually have quails.
At the moment I have an odd problem where a new breeding pair keep failing in the nest.
They had one fuzz butt after the first round of 5 eggs, but it died of dehydration or some other malady.
Their second batch, they sat for 5 days, kept laying eggs (total of 8) then stopped sitting on them.
I had a choice, but chose to try to save some eggs with no incubation experience.
I bought a cheap automatic one and hoped it would take quail size eggs.
On day one it was obvious that at least 3 had activity, in fact when I candled one was visibly moving.
On day 2 there are 3-4 that look promising, but the one that was moving has less veins visible.
And I'm left wondering what will happen when any of them hatch of course, the no sleep fortnight, lol
Still, I am hopeful.
