Oh ok. Just leave them in the nest for her and she will take care of them. Usually after 8-12 eggs she will set.

It's been a week now since the first egg but my hen is still depositing...... how long can an egg be good for? Should I get a few of the early eggs and incubate them leaving the fresher ones out for the hen to set? The thing is I would rather have my hen set the eggs instead of incubating myself, but at the same time if I'm waiting for her to finish her clutch (and hopefully set), that could take a few more days and I'm worried by then the early eggs will not be as fertile.

I have heard that 10-12 days they are good. But I recently heard someone say they hatched 3 week old eggs. Find that hard to believe. I believe the 10-12 days.

@Temujin I'm interested in starting flocks of shamo and asils. Do you have eggs available year round or seasonally? Do you sell chicks as well?

Hi, I can usually sell eggs through November, after that , it is too cold, unless it is local pick up. I don’t sell chicks, but will have grown birds in September October
