1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I do not have any chickens right now. We have had chickens at our old farm years ago. We currently have ducks, rabbits, dogs and a cat.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 8 ducks right now. (We lost our family favorite 2 days ago to a couple red tail hawks). We also have 2 rabbits, 2 dogs and 1 cat.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have a couple Peking Ducks and 6 Mallard mixes.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I was googling about help for hawk problem. I've already found some great ideas on here. My favorite, that I'll be starting right away, is building a big wood painted Eagle to put on top of their coop.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting, kayaking and mud runs. I also do quite a bit of home remodeling and painting.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share
I have a wonderful, hard-working husband, 4 children & 3 grandchildren. I'm retired and looking forward to some traveling but, with a farm that's pretty hard to do.
