Hello everyone,
I'm so happy to be a part of this great community.
I don't have any chucks yet but am excited to get some in the future. Hopefully soon :)

Glad you joined us! What breed(s) are you thinking of getting?

Hi Sumi, I'm really not too sure to be honest. I would like something small but I would also like them to lay eggs regularily for breakfast and baking. I'm not sure if small breeds would lay decent eggs though for that :)
Please forgive my ignorance for not yet knowing their names, but I like the small ones that look like they are wearing pants :) Their leggs are feathered all the way down. Are they bantams?
I would idealy also like something that doesn't make too much noise as I currently live on an estate.

Hello

and welcome to BYC!

Glad to have you join! The ones you describe sound like Cochin bantams and Brahma bantams. Cochins aren't the best at laying though.

Hi there,
I'm also new and from the UK. I have three Pekin bantams and they are ace, and very quiet as well, my neighbours have no idea I even have them. I would definitely recommend them as a breed, I had some when I was kid so they were the first ones I thought of when I moved in to my new house.

Its been an interesting couple of weeks. That's Queen B on her first day home.

Let's hope we both learn a lot!
