Hi there. I am new to the group. I Started with chickens one year ago and have 13 laying hens, one rooster, and hatched 12 baby chicks in an incubator this spring! We have Rhode Island red, ISA Brown, americauna, Buff Orpington, and six week old Lavender Orpington, cream crested legbar, Golden Cuckoo maran, and one silver-laced Orpington that I think is a rooster 🤦🏼‍♀️. I’m actually wondering if anybody has experience with raising lavender Orpington’s and can help me decide if mine are pullets or Cockrells! They look fairly similar, but one is acting a little more like a RuThey look fairly similar, but one is acting a little more like a roo. They both have fairly pronounced combs and waddles already, but they are not very red. They are stance and feet and feather development I’ll look more like pallets. My silver laced Orpington definitely looks like a rooster. He has redder, more prominent comb, bigger feet, thicker legs, Long neck, slow to feather and gets in little skirmishes with the other young roosters... What do you think? They are definitely six weeks because I hatched them myself.
