New here. My name is Chris. Been raising chickens for over a year now and have a lot to learn. We are currently hatching chicks at our school in an incubator and have run into a predicament. Posted in the hatching forum a photo of what we are hoping is only the umbilical cord. So need advice on what to do. Don't want the chick to suffer.

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

That appears to be the intestines, not the umbilical chord. It would be in the best interest of the chick and you to humanely euthanize. :(

Thanks for joining our community! :celebrate
