Helping chick out who hasn't pipped?

Oh I am so sorry... I really feel your pain!! The exact thing happened to us a few days ago. We had a chick that had pipped and was peeping and we waited an hour too long and found a perfectly formed chick. We even tried CPR and we couldn't bring her back... Way sad... I am so, so sorry!!

It is always so hard to know what to do. I've not had a lot of success with helping them out. It just seems that if they're too weak to hatch, they're too weak to survive most of the time and that's not a trait I want to continue in my flock.

Well, i've had a big crying jag, now just teary. It feels worse knowing if i acted quicker things might be different. i tried cpr, too.

i guess all i can do is learn from my mistakes. And take comfort in knowing the little one is in heaven in God's hands now.

At least I know I'm among friends when I realize I'm not the only one who has done mouth to beak...

Sorry about your chickie.
