hen just hatched chick...how long before she begins laying again?

My bantam only hatched 1 out of 5 eggs, but the 1 chick is doing fine. I discarded the unhatched eggs.

My questions is...how long before the hen will start laying again?

7 weeks after my bantam's eggs hatched, she began laying again. Not sure if this is standard, though. Good luck to you and the little family.

bassfishrman, yep chicken-mama is right on, usually when the peeps become fully feathered and are able to make it on their own, then mom will start to lay again.
