Hi my name is Marissa Humphries. I am from Ohio and I enjoy showing dogs in 4-H. Last year my family got our first chickens. Their breed was Cornish Rock cross. We raised all 20 of them in our garage for 6 weeks. We had them processed and ate them. They were so much better then frozen chickens you can buy from the grocery store. After that I was hooked. Last month My Uncle bought 68 laying chickens (Rhode island reds, Barred Plymouth rocks, Buff Orphintons, and Golden laced wyndottes) from Mt. Healthy Hatcheries in Cincinnati. My family is keeping these chickens in our garage until they are old enough to go outside. Now I show both dogs and chickens in 4-H.
