has anyone ever built a Hoop coop using left over fence on a roll instead of cattle panels. i plane to use 1/2 pvc for the bends and putting the fence on the the pvc and attaching it in the bottom to 4x4. This is going to be used for the 17 new chickens im adding to my flock so that i can introduce them to the old flock through the fence and then for meat chickens in the future.

Welcome to BYC.

Here's a PVC hoop coop/tractor: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/low-hoop-coop-chicken-tractor-pvc.76361/

And another, which is not predator-tight because of the plastic netting but which can be used inside a secure area: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/chicken-tractor-hoop-house.73374/

And another: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/easy-hoop-run.65279/

And the search I used: https://www.backyardchickens.com/se...oop&t=ams_article&c[title_only]=1&o=relevance

If you're talking about 2x4 fence, the main issue is that it's not tight against weasels and rats and raccoons can reach through the openings to drag bits of the bird through the wire. People who use 2x4 wire often put 1/2" hardware cloth on the lower sections to deter the raccoons.

yea i planed on running chicken wire with small openings along the bottom of them at least four feet up i wanted it to be easily assembled and stored and use what i have.

Using what you have is a good thing.

That's why I made this "redneck job" for separating out some cockerels while waiting for them to either sell or get big enough to want to butcher them.

Well, you can probably take snow load of the list of negatives, lol.
Last weeks snow and my current chicken run that I bought of amazon. It’s all fixed and JB welded now

Ok. You can put it back on the list. That heavy wet snow is brutal on stuff. Looks like you had a bit of damage to repair.
Yea it wasn’t too bad some JB weld and heating and bending. And it’s functional again. What did it was the tree that fell over and dumped the extra weight right go t in the middle of it
