How do you ship eggs safely?

Thanks again for the advice and photos. If anyone ever wants any of the eggs (mixed breeds as mentioned above+ a Speckled Sussex hen-I forgot about her!)-just let me know. Someone locally bought some 2 weeks ago and is having good luck so far with viability/fertility when she candled them.

Has this been considered for a sticky? I see there is one for shipping chickens.

Hi!
You can order boxes, Priority labels, and Delivery Confirmation labels from the USPS website
(I like the flat rate size box (frb1) for 2 doz or less bantam eggs or a doz larger eggs and the #7 box for larger quantities).

HI!
Stuff happens to boxes during shipping. Some poorly wrapped eggs might get lucky and not get thrown around so much --- most packages don't get so lucky.
Before you ship an egg, you *could* do I like I did. Wrap and pack them and kick them around the yard. Drop them from a 10' (I let Hubby 'abuse' the boxes) ladder and then set them to see if they are viable.
