How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Curious, my Welsummers lay darker eggs that my other breeds, but not that dark.

Both the wellies and the marans came from Whitmore Farm in Maryland a couple years ago when they were closing down their chicken operation and selling some of their stock. They had some good dark egg layers. Wish I'd picked up one of their Welsummer roos to raise a few more.

Will the sisters squat if you try to pet their back yet?

One kinda does as if she' not sure. The other just runs away.

Not all will squat as they start to lay many will what breed of birds and how old are they

Only one of my 5 pullets squats - the Black Australorp. Others are an EE, Cuckoo Marans, GLW, & Golden Comet.

Yesterday after posting about it, my EE broke her egg drought and finally laid another egg.

22 yesterday and 16 today and counting, also just placed a dozen eggs on shared incubator.

up to 10 - 1 banty from main coop, 2 from silky land put feed out 2 came out to eat
found 2 silky eggs under one may now have all four broody ?
