I currently have 2 coturnix quail. A male and female to be specific. I'm not trying to breed them, I got them as pets. Is one female enough, or should I get a few more hens? I heard that they can breed them to death if they only have one hen, but this is my first time raising coturnix quail, so IDK if they will he fine with the current set up of one female and one male.

You need more hens, a good ratio is 1 male to 4 or 5 hens.
You can also keep all males or all females together but not all in the same pen...seperate pens for the males and seperate pens from the females, if your not interested in breeding.

Well, I only have the one male and if I'm gonna need more anyway, I might as well see if I can get some more hens so he's happy. Thanks.
