Hamburgs are very flighty chickens, but they are great layers of white (although rather small) eggs. They are great free ranging chickens, although they are just as apt to sleep in trees as return to the coop.

We have 2 acres and a large backyard with trees, I think they will be happy. I only have one other hen who lays white eggs, a silkie mix. I am excited about the chicks.

I love these little chicks. They are very cheeky and funny. At three weeks one has a noticeably different comb and wing feathers, so if I got lucky enough to get 6 little hens out this run, that will be amazing.

I have lost two of these chicks for unknown reason. They looked great last night, I got home from work today 4 look great and two are dead.
