i just set 7 eggs .. hatch day aug 4th.. anyone else?

i had one pip on day 18 & i think it died. as i have not seen it move & i havnt heard any noise come from the bator as in little cheeps

I GOT A PIP!!!

I got one Silkie egg in and it's right on time. It will be Blue or Splash. Come ooooon Splash!

Also, have 13 Guineas due to start hatching today for a friend. Heven't seen anythin yet.

Two Guinea eggs have pipped as of this morning. Not hearing anything and nothing from the rest of them.

Today is hubby's birthday so I named baby chick Lil' Bob. (He thinks I'm joking)

All the chicks died for some reason

. I heard peeping yesterday but never saw a chick and this morning I heard some more peeping but something was starting to smell bad

in the area of the broody so when I saw her off the nest, I decided to investigate. I guess an unfertile egg must have broken and made a gooey mess because there were several chicks that were out of the eggs but were wet, gooey and dead in among the hay of the nest. I broke open all of the others and found 2 more dead chicks in the shells. I guess this is a lesson learned about candling for unfertile eggs next time. Now the hen is sitting in a different nest on some ceramic eggs.
