Playing 45rpm records on a mono record player.

My first 45 was John Denver singing Sunshine on my Shoulders. It cost me about 60¢.

I remember my mom watching a soap opera in black and white that had a Dr. Hardy in it. I think she had a crush on him. I couldn't remember the name, so I just looked it up. It was General Hospital, and Dr. Steve Hardy played from 1963–96.

Geez, that's a long running soap.

I remember watching home movies from a reel to reel projector

A typical night of entertainment when my mom/grandparents had people over was first dinner, then turning off the lights and showing slides of my Grandpa and Great-grandpa's trip to Alaska, or my Grandpa's trip to Belgium, or our family vacation to Florida. It was a huge uptick in entertainment value when my Grandpa got an 8mm camera and projector and started showing actual MOVIES!!!

I remember buying a 4 year old ranch house on 11.25 acres for $21,500. It was our 'starter' home and will be our 'finisher' home.
